“Hey,” is the most Donna manages, casually, as if this setting is something completely ordinary and he should have expected her at his place any time soon. He should have been happy to see her. He is, sort of. But something is off.
“Hey back at you,” Harvey replies but the words are reluctant to escape his lips, an ambiguity, a mix of confusion and amusement at their current situation. “What are you doing here?” he asks, because it has to be asked eventually and he figures he’d get it out of the way.
“I was on a date,” she confesses, making him mouth a silent “oh”.
“I thought it was going well but he sent me off in a cab.”
