Astrid had it all figured out. She graduated top of her class at dragon training, one of the best warriors of her generation, well-respected in every facet. Which was why, when her father dropped the news that she would marry Berk's klutz of an heir, she was less than thrilled. Actually, she was seething. The thought of being stuck to *him* of all people? Outrageous.
But Hiccup Haddock always had a few surprises up his sleeve, some that might just help him get through it all in one piece. And of course there's the whole dragon in the woods matter to deal with. Simple, really. Not a problem, whatsoever.
And so, here they are. An arranged marriage. The bumbling heir and the perfect valkyrie. What could go wrong?

"Caleb," she said, holding her hands out to him like she was presenting a very important gift, "we are going to dance."
He looked up at her with that face he made, that unmistakable Caleb face, where he was already working out how to say no without hurting her feelings, which was sweet, actually, but also completely unnecessary because she wasn't going to let him say no. Not that he ever seemed to deny her anything anyways.

Of course, the cute guy she met at the club wasn't part of any plan either. And it certainly wasn't in the plan for him to be this entangled in her life.

Hiccup never expected, or wanted, to return to Berk when he left five years ago. Why would he want to go back to a dragon killing village that never cared about him anyways? But now, five years later, with a new yet familiar threat looming, he must return if he's to save both the life he's made and the lives he left behind. And maybe, become the hero he was always meant to be.
