Summary
Days were hard to track, in Zood, with the strange horizon and the various heavenly bodies floating around. They made some sort of attempts at a regular sleep and wake schedule, which helped them somewhat keep track of days in Zood, at least, days since they’d left Gath, days they’d been on this journey.
This was a good thing, because Daisuke had been keeping track. It was a special day coming up. Not a state holiday, not in any state in Gath, that is.
Well… it may have been a state holiday in one small sovereign nation out in Gulch Canyon.
Olethra’s birthday.

Daisuke Bucklesby makes sure Olethra's birthday is a good one.

Summary
It starts—as most things on the Zephyr do—as a drunken bit.
“Gotch.” Van says solemnly. Her flesh hand shoots out to grip his shoulder tightly. Her eyes burn into his skull. “I’m gonna be your dad.”
Maxwell blinks. “What?”
“Your father is an absolute arse, and if he doesn’t want you, I call dibs. I’m your new da.”
Or: Longspot Gotch sucks. Van, ever the problem-solver, steps up.

Summary
“I just don’t get why you’re asking me to do this.” Fabian says as he closes the door to his locker.
The Ball (whose real name is probably Riz,) takes a deep breath and puts his hand to his forehead, pushing some of the dark hair that usually covers it out of the way. If Fabian’s nigh-encyclopedic knowledge about The Ball is anything to go off of, what Fabian just said was probably tiring to him on a level he could never hope to understand. The Ball tries his hardest not to be rude, but he’s genuinely very easy to annoy.
“Fabian, buddy,” The Ball starts, “Have you… seriously not noticed?”
or: After the Owlbears lose a game, Ragh takes it very poorly, and the only way Fabian can think to help is taking a nap with him. This prompts some realizations, obviously.
