All of his attention had fizzled to a point, focused entirely on the electric fizzing where his skin touched Bernard’s.
Then Bernard slowly moved his hand, his fingers ever so slowly interlocking with Tim’s own, giving him time to retreat if he wanted to.
And oh, Tim had never wanted something more. Yet he stayed perfectly still, allowing Bernard to continue his exploration into uncharted, dangerous territory.
Bernard stilled, his hand finally perfectly interlocked with Tim’s own, two destined souls seamlessly merging and becoming one.
The fizzing sparks exploded, and suddenly all Tim could feel was colour.

Dick feels the stirrings of hope in his chest as he finally places the familiarity. Hesitantly, he holds out a hand and slowly says, “Tim…?”
That little face breaks out into a smile, revealing a gap between his front teeth, providing more proof to the insane theory in his head. The child says nothing as they crawl out of the bundle of clothes, and Dick quickly grabs Tim (right?) before he can put his hands on the dirty ground.
“Tim,” he whispers, daring to believe.
