It was supposed to be a pretty run of the mill misison. One, they'd done so many times, Zeb could do it in his sleep.
Things going awry was also pretty standard on a Specter mission; this is the fastest it's blown up in their faces in a while. And when all four of Kallus' backup plans fell short, they resorted to splitting between fighting and loading, sending the less sure to load the supplies and the seasoned fighters to try and block off the attack.
It happened so fast that Zeb didn’t have a chance to think. One moment, Kallus was moving with the grace of a skilled combat warrior, taking down imperials left and right, and the next thing he saw was someone throw a grenade in his direction, the sound of a rebel screaming “LIVE GRANADE!” catching everyone’s attention, but catching Kal’s a fraction too late.
