“Captain Nash, first off I would like to state that Evan is alive.” And Bobby almost sags down onto the floor. He doesn’t, but Chimney does it for him. Sliding off the couch, letting go of Hen, as she sobs in relief. “I know this is never a call you want to receive and it's one we don’t wish to give.”
“Can you give me any details?” Bobby chokes out, he needs to know what happened. Needs to be ready for whatever is to come. Because it’s something. His eyes met Eddies, whose eyes are shiny.
They don’t call if Evan isn’t hurt.
“Officer Nash, Evan.” And the man does sound affected and Bobby realizes that this man may directly know his son, “Was out in the field, a infiltration mission, I apologize I can’t be more specific.” Bobby doesn’t give a fuck, “We were ambushed, I’m sorry Captain but Evans leg was crushed underneath a tank.”

The beach. 4C’s favourite.
He normally would just stay on the ship when the crew went. Today however, he gave in to the pied piper. Katie could be particularly insistent when she wanted, and she had decided for whatever reason that 4C simply had to come.
4C soon found out that it was no ordinary beach they headed to.
Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad after all?Or, 4C can actually survive a beach outing.

His husband is the one who is Stateside, his husband is the one who served his time, his husband is not the one in an active war zone. His husband is not the one who should be facing bomb threats. It’s bad enough for Eddie’s sanity that his husband has made a living out of running into burning buildings.
Eddie blinks and Bobby is handing the teen off to the police.
Eddie blinks and the first responders are attempting to lift the ladder truck.
Eddie blinks and the civilian onlookers are rushing forward to help.
Eddie blinks and Buck has been freed and moved onto a stretcher.
Eddie blinks and Buck is being loaded onto an ambulance.

Buck and Eddie are already married but Eddie is finishing his last tour in Afghanistan. After having the pleasure of watching the truck bombing live on the news Eddie hauls ass from Bagram to LA to be by his husbabds bedside when he wakes up.
