Summary
I have NOT gotten over the TADC finale and it shows.
AU in which our favourite gang is just a bunch of abused kids who have ended up in the same orphanage, and they have to navigate their new lives, a strange yet kind child psychologist with a chess piece keychain and a purple sweater, and a group of caretakers who just want to make their lives worse.
Because family can be found even in the strangest of places, like the shittiest neighbourhood in this deadbeat, segregated city.
If they just allow themselves to try and find it, that is.

In an instant, the chess piece pulls her tightly close to her body, Ragatha releases a gasp that forces a gentle whine. And she says nothing. She holds her. And she's so warm. The rag doll feels her body shiver. Her eye starts to sting again. No, No, I cant… almost instinctively, Queenie holds her tighter.
“I was never angry at you, Ragatha”
Rags feels her knees begin to buckle and she crumples to the floor, a bumbling, spluttering mess. She wasn't mad. She was never mad. This is all she ever asked for. Begging, to be able to shatter and have someone else pick up the pieces with the glue. She felt the sobbing subsiding, in her cocoon of embrace. Her face relaxed and softened into the velvet coat. Air filled, deep into her lungs, stretching her chest fully. It feels like this is the first time she's taken a breath all day. Her entire life.
OR
Ragatha is suddenly getting flashbacks of her mother, and feels like she cant function properly around queenie anymore. All the chess piece wants to do is help.

After Kinger came back and told them he had killed Caine, the group unanimously and wordlessly decided to sit together in silence on the couches that were thankfully still there. No one knew what to say, and no one felt the need to fill the silence yet.

Summary
Caine comes up with a genius idea that is sure to get his subjects interested in his adventures again: What if they all traveled inside their own memories? Surely nothing would go wrong with this idea, especially when Ragatha gets picked to go first.
AKA: Ragatha is forced to relive her past, and everyone finds out exactly why she is the way she is.....
Takes place directly after episode 5, but it's not meant to be a prediction or anything. It's more like a what-if scenario. I just really like Ragatha and wanted to share my headcanons with everyone :)
