Tim grimaces at her words bracing himself for what’s to come, “Actually…Ashley and I broke up.”
Genny freezes, she glances at Lucy then looks at him with wide eyes of delight and Tim shakes his head in the negative, cutting off her line of thinking. She then narrows her eyes and looks at him suspiciously, “you said you asked her to call me. Which means she was here…today. Did she break up with you today? While you were set to have surgery? Is she serious?”
“Genny, don’t start.” Tim warns as he glances briefly at a sleeping Lucy but when he looks back at his sister she’s only smirking at him. “Don’t.”
“Pick one!” Genny hisses, “either we talking about the sleeping woman at your bedside or the heartless bi—”
“Genny.”
“She broke up with you while you were in the hospital! On death’s door…”
“Hang on! I’m hardly dying,” Tim grunts in protest, he tries to move but she slaps him lightly on the arm.
“My point is who does that?” Genny continues her voice rising, “it’s heartless and cruel and…”

“Next up we have Lily Bradford!” Genny’s voice booms over the mic and she is unable to hide her pride.
“Nepotism.” Angela coughs but raises her hand in defence when everyone but the kids turn to glare at her.
“Oh Jesus. What is she wearing?” Tim asks horrified as Lily comes scrambling onto the stage, her head held high
Her red hair is curled up on the top of her head in the shape of a Mohawk. She has big plastic eyes over her face and the eyes are pointing outwards.
She’s got a rubber moustache that’s way past her chin and a bright yellow turtleneck shirt with pleats, bright green pants and yellow rubber boots complete with a green tutu.
She looks absolutely ridiculous and the entire crowd breaks out into giggles but Lily stands tall and proud, her hands on her hips mimicking chicken wings
“HeI-Hei!” Jack points out in delight.

He presses the screen on the radio and sure enough the date is Tuesday August 13 2019.
He would have sworn it was Friday. He’s not sure about dates, Lucy does all their reports he has no clue of the exact date but he knows he has Saturday off and was looking forward to having a break from future Lucy.
Did he time travel?
Lucy is the one with the damn crystal.
Tim shakes his head there is no way he went back in time.
He yanks open his fridge and stops short when he sees there is no egg carton on the top shelf.
Now he knows he bought eggs two days ago.
He slams the door in annoyance and stalks off to the bathroom now he has to buy breakfast.
He did not time travel.
Maybe he just had a ridiculously vivid dream.
Except why would he dream about his rookie travelling back in time to tell him she’s in love with him?

Tim watches Lucy go and doesn’t notice Angela appear next to him again and this time she grabs Lucy’s glass from his hand and takes a sip of it much to Tim’s protest.
“Holy shit is Lucy pregnant?” Angela all but yells and the entire room goes silent immediately.Figures now Rodge puts away his dumb ass guitar.
“For fucks sake Angela.” Tim growls as he grabs the glass for her his eyes already searching for Lucy in the room much like everyone else.
Lucy stands by the snack bar brownie in one hand and cupcake on a plate in the other, her brown eyes wide and and her mouth full looking like a deer in the headlights.
Their eyes meet and Tim nods at her giving her the choice to decide, not that they can really come back from this.

He turns to leave. Give her the space she wants, but then stops and looks at her with conviction, “hey listen. Celina is right. It’s going to be okay.”
“I know,” she nods meekly but he knows she doesn’t believe what she says.
He cups her cheek, his thumb brushing her cheekbone before he kisses her forehead. She then closes her eyes before she speaks. “I’ll be in a bit.”
“Alright.” Tim nods, he catches her eye and smiles softly. “I love you. You’re going to be okay.”
“I know,” Lucy utters but he’s not sure she believes it herself.
She will get there, he knows she will. He will make sure she does.
He walks towards their bedroom, his heart heavy. He stops right at the hallway and leans against the wall out of sight and he waits. He knows she wants to be alone, but he can’t find it in himself to walk away. He made a promise to himself that he would never walk away from her, no matter what.
He intends to keep that promise, even if her greatest enemy right now is herself.

She shuts her eyes tightly and takes a deep breath, remember all Tim’s practical training running through her mind. Be aware of her surroundings, don’t react.
Assess. She knows she’s in a bed, the sheets are soft and familiar. She takes a small sniff and smells a familiar woodsy scent that she can’t quite place.
Self check. She is still wearing her worn Scooby doo crop tshirt with the small hole at the side and her soft fleece purple polka dot shorts. All of which she went to bed in. She wiggles her toes and she can feel the soft material of her wool socks.
She freezes when her toes wiggle against a warm firm form. She can feel the heat radiating off the person next to her and she’s almost afraid to open her eyes.
She feels fingers just barely graze her arm and she scoots back as her eyes fly open.
She sees a head of short cropped dirty blonde hair. She knows that head.
Did she sleep with Tim Bradford?
She certainly would have remembered sleeping with Tim Bradford.
She slept with her training officer and she doesn’t remember?
There is just no way.
