It had been two years since Jin guanyaos death. Wuxian having seemingly settle in cloud recess. Attempting to make peace with the fact of his rebirth and the feeling of being wanted my someone, he is slowly making progress. But he can’t help but be dragged down of the weight of change. Though it’s been 18 years for others since his first death. To him he’s spent 2 years trying to make sense of things after being thrown right back into it. Now that he’s no longer living for war or fighting for his existence he doesn’t know what to do with this life of living for yourself.

Summary
To say that he runs to his car would be incorrect, as he is a Lan, and running is both undignified and unnecessary unless in immediate danger. Nor does he slam his key into the ignition, or aggressively swerve around the cars on the freeway, or have a mild panic attack at the fact he is picking A-Yuan up late from school for the first time ever.
He comes close, though.
By the time he arrives, it’s 4:35PM, and he has imagined about fifty different worse-case scenarios. The door is partly open when he gets to it, a messy label of 104B—Art Room scrawled with chalk on a placard next to the faded wood. As he opens it fully, he expects to see a wailing, terrified child, or perhaps a scene of utter misery and betrayal.
What he finds is his son, hands covered in paint, being sung to by a beautiful, dark-haired stranger.
“Ducks live in the pond, yellow ducks, happy ducks!”
Lan Wangji stops in his tracks.

WWX shows up unexpectedly at LWJ's door with nowhere else to go, only to discover that LWJ is dogsitting for a week.

Lan Zhan smiled and said something quietly to the dog, rewarding it with some ear scratches. The brown and white dog also muscled its way in for a few approving scritches, despite not doing anything to earn praise."Reminds me of the peacock..." Wei Ying mumbled to himself, instantly deciding that dog was the worse one.
Wei Ying lost track of how long he stood at Lan Zhan's bedroom window, watching him play fetch with the yappy little dogs. The stubborn little brown and white one finally got its act together and started fetching properly, though it still occasionally bowled over the slightly smaller black and tan one. Neither dog seemed bothered by this, and Lan Zhan kept smiling softly at them and petting them both when one returned with the ball.
That smile. Wei Ying couldn't get it out of his head for the rest of the day, even that evening as they washed the dishes.
