Summary
When he opens his eyes, it's dark. Water pools around his shined shoes and he can see himself: not with petals, or a thin stem and a few little leaves, or a bundle of stamen and pistils. No, with a fitting vest, a finely-tailored shirt, and sleek slacks over long legs. With two bright eyes and swooping hair the color of daffodils, his skin glowing like a cherub's. Ears. A pointed nose. A mouth.
A mouth in which to speak.
And, oh, speak is what he will do.

Yellow wakes up, for the first time in his life. Being a human is awfully confusing.
...Or, maybe it only feels that way because he's missing something important.

Summary
Four broke college students make poor real estate choices. Sure, a six bedroom house that’s cheap enough for Noelle’s inheritance to pay for without a mortgage is probably a red flag, but what’s the worst problem they could face? They need to do a few renovations? Call in some guys to fix the plumbing? Fine by them!
It’s ghosts. The house was so cheap because of ghosts.
…oh well! In this economy, an extra seven roommates isn’t that much of a deal breaker, not at these prices!

Summary
Ik had been victim to a few arbitrary visions of the future ever since he had died. He never really knew where they came from, but they were helpful in the times he had them, few and far between.
The afterlife was the night, the twilight after the setting sun of each and every human's story.
What happens when you see things you aren't supposed to? What happens when, trapped in a never-ending night, you flicker your eyelids open at the wrong time to see the dawn?
As the morning approaches, Ik finds himself seeing the future more and more often. Surely, seeing the morning too many times has an effect on your vision.
Looking into the sun for too long can blind.
