Ineffectively, cause Thor was a god - and Tony had just nearly died again, holy shit - but enough to stun him.
“Erik-” started Tony, but it came out a little croaky, and he put a hand on his neck at the pain. That fucking hurt.
Erik seemed to grow further angry, while Thor frowned at Tony. “What fucking business does your ass have, grabbing an unarmed civilian by the neck? Look at how he sounds after less than a second in your fucking paws, were you fucking trying to kill him?”

“What do you care?” Tim bites back, so deeply exhausted that he doesn’t move from his crouch even when Jason comes closer.
“Kid,” Oh fuck, Jason has turned the voice modulator off and now Tim’s going to be bombarded with feelings. “I might be an asshole, a murderer and a criminal but I ain’t a transphobe. And I don’t know Bats to be either so - what the fuck.”
“How the fuck would you know what B is or isn’t,” Tim says angrily. “And it was fine! Everything was fine, why did you have to make me say it? It’s. It was fine.” Tim’s voice cracks at the end and he hates it.
Jason audibly takes in a deep breath and it sounds more like a bull about to charge his target then a calming technique and takes his helmet off. The lenses of his domino are deactivated so he can see Jason's eyes, which look calculating, almost. “I don’t think it was fine actually - or you wouldn’t have been so defensive and hostile about everything. You literally seem to have lost hours disassociating on a Gotham rooftop because you are so far into the closet you got Narnia’ed all the way to Egypt.”

An all too familiar face stares back at Ghost from inside the book. Simon is staring back at him, expressions captured down to the finest details. He looks alive. There are scribblings beside the doodles, thought Ghost doubts these class as doodles. To him, they are masterpieces.
The scribblings read little criticisms and notes, things such as: ‘too dark’, ‘wider eyes’, ‘softer lips’ and Ghost traces his thumb over the drawings. There is one of just his lips, sketched onto the corner of the page.

Simon throws his other hand over Soap’s shoulder where it rests right over his pec. Ghost never used to be as touchy as he is but Soap thinks the therapist Price has mandated for them all has taught Simon the beauty of human touch and to treasure what is around before it’s gone. Either that or Simon has lost his mind.
Simon’s hand lingers just a moment too long over Johnny’s breast pocket and the younger Sergeant can practically feel the smirk he knows full well is on his Lieutenant’s face.
“Could you only afford half a boob job, Soap? Should’ve said, I would’ve contributed.”
“Yeah yeah, sure you would’ve, Sir, you sick bastard,” Soap chuckles, shrugging Ghost away, “And if you must know, it’s a teddy from my nephew that I carry around with me. A teddy that you’re making very inappropriate comments towards, especially since its owner is under your command.”

Soap carries a teddy to remind him of his family. Ghost finds out. Their relationship continues to grow from this revelation.

“Ghost, you’d love it. Santa dies within, like, the first five minutes.”

A mission drags out and the 141 are stuck in the States for Christmas. Luckily, the Laswells welcome the extra company. While Soap misses his family, he doesn’t really mind spending the holiday with his second one.
