There was silence. The man didn’t tense up like he did earlier. In fact, he didn’t move at all. It didn’t even seem like he was breathing. A strange breeze ruffled both of their hairs.
“I don’t keep in touch.” He said finally. “The wind takes me where the wind takes me. This is just my most recent stop.”
“I don’t care,” Childe shrugs, not feeling completely lost yet. “You’re interesting. Can I at least get a name?”
“Good night, Childe.” The stranger sighs, gathering his books and standing.

A few minutes after that, staying rooted in your place is you whose watery eyes are watching downwards and in your hand, fallen petals in the colour of cerulean blue, the colour of the sky—akin to someone’s eyes.
The leftover taste in your mouth is sour, the same as the feeling pouring over your heart. The want to laugh at how horrible it is not enough to act it out but enough to make you sneer deprecatingly.
The Hanahaki curse befalls Lohen, but it's a lot more complicated than he thinks it is.

The clink of medical tools pauses from somewhere else in the room, just as Tighnari’s brain skids to a similar stop. “You flew all the way to Gandharva Ville. Because Durin… has a cold.”
“It’s not a normal cold,” Kunimitsu immediately raises his voice, defensive. “It’s— well… It started as one, but I think it’s presenting differently because of his species. He usually runs hot, but his temperature is abnormally high. Not to mention the… well, fire.”
A newborn exploring the world has to get sick at some point. No one's really prepared for Durin's first ever cold, though.

Summary
Ichigo had grown decidedly dangerous in the years Kisuke had been interacting with him. One day, he knew, he’d misstep and Ichigo would be able to flay him open, spill his insides across the grounds and cover himself in Kisuke’s lifeblood.
Whether he would was one of those mysteries Kisuke could never manage to wager with himself to any sort of satisfaction. Ichigo was not as straightforward as he—and everyone around him—used to believe. Kisuke had no doubt Ichigo could kill him.
Given enough provocation.
Or, possibly, given a fight that was simply too stimulating, one that had driven him too far into his more feral instincts. Combine that with the prophesized misstep and yes, Kisuke could see Ichigo killing him.
He doesn’t think he’d mind.

Mad, is what is widely agreed upon, citizens and knights alike, when they see how long he spends on the battlefield, and how he returns drenched in blood, sometimes his own.

Summary
Lohen, who had been walking closer to the table, looks over at him. "Hm? Oh, no no no," he chuckles, waving a hand. "I'm just here to make sure our Grand Master doesn't work himself to death." Lohen talks with a slight purr, blowing a bubble. "Someone has to, after all," he says casually, shrugging his shoulders.
Despite what he says, what he does, there's a certain tension radiating from him that's hard to miss. It's one he's well acquainted with seeing on the knight after knowing him for so long. Lohen puts on airs, seeming casual and flippant. He smiles like there isn't a problem, deflecting with an ill mannered joke like this one. But Varka sees past that. He sees the uneasiness in his steps, how his eyes linger on certain points in the room for a touch too long. Lohen holds himself like he's ready to strike at any moment, keeping weapons in easy reach. Or, if needed, bolt for the exit.
Varka's more than willing to bet Lohen didn't come here right after getting back to camp. He doesn't miss the exhaustion in the other's eyes either.

Lohen falling in love with Varka wasn't something he had ever seen coming.
Coughing flowers up because the man in question didn't love him back? Even less so.
If there was one thing he knew for certain, it was that no one could know about the cecilias in his lungs, and certainly not Varka. Sneak out, fight monsters, avoid the reason behind the flowers... it seemed easy.
Somehow, he managed to mess up something that should have been so simple. In hindsight... he should have known better.
Nothing was ever easy when Varka was concerned.

“I’m not…your…master…!” Ichigo gasps out, and the sword beast freezes. Its hold on him slackens slightly, and he sucks in a greedy breath. “The person…you’re…looking for is…gone!”
The clear rejection snaps it out of its stupor. As it registers the pity in Ichigo’s eyes, despair is rapidly replaced with rage and denial. With a vengeance, the strength of the grip tightens back painfully on his neck, and the black creeping along the edges of his vision deepens.
“...No.”
The sword beast raises its blade, and he watches as it aims straight for him.

“Did they say who they had in mind?” Kisuke asks, curious. And besides, it’s never too early to start planning how to eliminate a target, should such a thing become necessary.
“They’re trying to marry me off to Byakuya." Ichigo's face is scrunched up. Confusion or disgust—or some blend of both, ideally.
“Probably because you insist on calling him by his given name,” Kisuke says, aiming for teasing and landing a little too close to bitter, instead. It’s been years. Years. And Ichigo still predominantly calls him Getaboushi or Urahara.

Central 46 gets it into their heads that Ichigo would be easier to control if he was married off to someone in the Gotei. Kisuke would rather pull an Aizen and kill every last one of them than let that happen. Luckily, Ichigo is--more or less--of the same mind.for the prompt: devotion
