Something was wrong. A wave of protectiveness swept up within him before he stamped on it hard, unleashing a powerful strike at the goal on the assist automatically. He didn’t even bother to look to see if it went in, his eyes reorienting themself to where Hollander was shrugging off a medic.
It was his Dom side, he knew. Latching onto someone it thought was his and wanting to save them from the world. But Hollander wasn’t his. He was a fun hook up, and interesting company once you got to know him a bit, but not his.
Ilya hasn't seen Hollander since Vegas, and the first time they meet on the ice, months later, Hollander's playing is awful. Ilya's a Dom, a high level one, but as far as he knows Hollander's a Null, no designation. Doesn't need headspace. Doesn't Scene. Doesn't Drop.
But Hollander is Dropping. Has Dropped. And no one else seems to notice. So Ilya steps in without really thinking things through.

Summary
It has now been a month since the Ottawa Centaurs plane disappeared in the Appalachians. The weather has made search and recovery almost impossible, with no sight of the plane or any of the players and officials. With the weather worsening, the NHL has put out a statement saying that the victims, including star center Ilya Rozanov, are missing, presumed dead. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their family and friends during this time. The search continues.
The Centaurs plane has crashed, and it's been a month with no news. Shane navigates his grief, while a man with blonde curls and ice blue eyes calling himself Troy navigates a world he does not remember.

Year one: season 2021-2022.
Hello.
I’m Luca Haas. Ottawa Centaurs right winger, Swiss, twenty-two years old, and currently dealing with what I would describe as an unfortunate amount of personal situations.
First of all, Shane Hollander joined the Ottawa Centaurs.
Second of all, Shane Hollander married my captain Ilya Rozanov over the summer.
Bummer.
Third of all, my apartment caught fire.
Actually that one probably should have been first.
Anyway.
The newlyweds offered me a place to stay with them while everything gets sorted out. I felt obliged to agree since my captains offered and the alternative was staying in a hotel forever.
So this is a literary documentation of how I somehow became a temporary roommate in the Hollander-Rozanov household.
Very temporary.
I think.
I also started this journal because Ilya said it might help with homesickness and processing things.
Currently processing: my apartment burning down, hockey, annoying newlyweds, increasingly concerning emotions about my captains, and whatever the fuck is happening to my life.
