Summary
Slowly, slowly, slowly, it seems Viktor can reorient himself inside of his body, losing the feeling of desperation to instead be able to appreciate the closeness for what it is. Jayce, it seems, equally comes around, easing his death grip on him into a warmer, gentler embrace, until he begins dragging his fingertips over Viktor’s back and sides.
“Do you think we’re… alive?” Jayce asks after a while, his voice steady, but quiet.
Viktor doesn’t know how to answer. Because he has no idea. “I don’t know. It… feels like it. Who knows? Does it matter?”
“No.” The taller man says, surprisingly firm. “It doesn’t. You’re here with me. That’s all I need to know.”
or: after the end of everything, they find themselves somwhere new, naked in a field of flowers and no idea how to continue from here.

Summary
Jayce’s voice is thin, breaths coming faster than they should, but he stays put as he speaks, so Viktor simply holds the hand clutched in his shirt and lets him get his words out.
“You weren’t there. Nobody was there. I was-, I was alone, for so long. Sometimes, there were some critters, some bugs and lizards, Viktor, Viktor,” He stresses, “I ate so many lizards down there…” He laughs as he says it.
There is no humor in it.
“I was looking for a way out. I was looking for you, and I-... I think I was dying and I couldn’t find you. I was so alone-”
Their eyes meet, and just like that, Jayce seems to snap back to himself with a sharp exhale.

Sybill watches the pair a moment, then shakes her head with a fond smile. “You could have fooled me about being married, honestly. Don’t worry, dear, I didn’t want to insinuate he wasn’t taking good care of you. But it would do you good to gain a little more weight. That’s one of the good things. You can eat as much as you want, as long as it sits well with you. Now…” With a small hum, she rises from her chair and gestures over to the area with the curtain.
“Please come over here and free your upper body. I would like to examine you. Dad can stay here, we’ll just be over here.”
“D-Dad?” Jayce echoes, a fresh blush blooming over his face, and Viktor feels another piece of realization drop onto them as their eyes meet. Of course. Jayce is. He’s going to be a dad.

Summary
The physician waves him off with a well-meaning chuckle. “It happens, lad. Can’t blame you for being nervous. Now, your friend here told me you were dealing with a stomach bug?”
Nodding, Viktor describes the symptoms, while the older man gives him a check-up. He does prod and poke Viktor a little, takes his blood pressure and checks his throat, but it’s oddly comforting in the casual way he does it. Jayce stays close without interfering, just a steady, calm presence that puts Viktor further at ease.
When he’s asked to lay down, Viktor does so without hesitation, unbuttoning his shirt so the doctor can palpate his stomach. It’s a little uncomfortable, but very bearable, until the pressure wanders further down, around his navel and a little lower yet. Viktor winces at an odd sensation, not painful, but strange.

Viktor wakes up one day with nausea, and when it doesn't go away after a couple days, Jayce urges him to see a doctor.
He tells them that at least this time, it's not the first signs of a terminal illness...Series

Summary
Frustration and pain are great motivators, and ten minutes later, Viktor sits on his sofa, face covered in a vivid blush and a visitor to be expected in around an hour. The memory of the phone call is fuzzy at best. All he remembers is a friendly, flirty voice listing off services, and him agreeing to the terms and conditions, paying, and then writing down the time when his callboy would arrive.
Viktor needs to shower. It’s not that he genuinely needs it, but he feels it’s the courteous thing to do when one is expecting to have sex. And it’s a more useful way of killing time than staring at his wall for an hour.

Summary
Viktor and Jayce have no trouble taking naps in the lab, much less sleeping for hours. Just put a blanket over them, and they'll get a good night of sleep, for certain.
The laboratory, however, sometimes is cold. And Viktor needs some warmth.
Good thing Jayce is there to help him.
