Summary
After the war, Hermione Granger helps write a rehabilitation law that promptly assigns her a wife: Bellatrix Black. They agree the marriage is strictly political, strictly temporary, and strictly useful only when convenient.
Then Hermione returns to Hogwarts to finish her seventh year with excellent grades, strong principles, and one inconvenient wife. The fact that said wife is also her Defence Against the Dark Arts professor is, according to the Ministry, a minor administrative detail.

Summary
Bellatrix Black was supposed to complete community service in the Ministry Archives. Hermione Granger was supposed to supervise her, keep the cursed objects organized, and prevent disaster.
Unfortunately, Bellatrix declared war on the alphabet, adopted a murder goose, threatened several pieces of office equipment, and began paying far too much attention to Hermione.
Hermione notices patterns. Bellatrix notices threats. The Ministry notices everything eventually.
What begins as community service becomes a slow-burn disaster of magical bureaucracy, dangerous affection, protective violence, negotiated restraint, and one very ugly sign reading: Terms and Conditions Apply.

Summary
After years of being the sensible one, thirty-year-old Hermione Granger is newly divorced, emotionally exhausted, and unsure who she is without the life she spent so long holding together. Seeking privacy and a chance to rediscover herself, she books a retreat on a breathtaking island where no one knows her name, her past, or the marriage she is still quietly grieving.
Narcissa Black, forty-five and recently divorced after decades in a cold, carefully maintained marriage, arrives on the same island against her better judgment after her sisters send her away to heal. Elegant, guarded, and practiced at hiding what she wants, Narcissa expects solitude, distance, and perhaps a little peace.
Neither woman expects the other.
