Nigel tilted his head. "Kid, listen—" There was that muffled protesting again, louder this time, the man wriggling slightly against his restraints. Nigel narrowed his eyes. He briefly considered removing the kid's blindfold, given that it didn't matter too much at this stage whether he saw his captor or not, but instead he reached out for the gag, roughly tugging the twisted-up shirt until it came free and pressed against the man's chin instead.
The man inhaled loudly through his mouth and then declared, "I'm twenty-nine."
Nigel blinked.
"What? I don't give a fuck—"
"I'm twenty-nine. I'm not a kid. I pay taxes," the man stated through slightly uneven breaths.

Adam saw something he shouldn't. Nigel is going to have to do something about that.
