Timothy Drake was a stillborn baby. He was born dead, stayed that way for a solid five minutes, and was then resuscitated in the delivery room. He was a child who grew up alone, but for his imaginary friends. Summary
Damian was confused.
Damian prided himself on not being confused very often; it was unbecoming of the Heir of the Demon to misunderstand anything. He trained incessantly, to remember everything he was supposed to do and when he was supposed to do it, and what he was supposed to know and how to use that knowledge. His knowledge had never truly failed him before.
That is, it had never truly failed him in Nanda Parbat. Gotham, on the other hand, was a completely different monster, and Damian was… struggling.

Jake hauled Neteyam up, one arm under his shoulders, one hand slapping hard over the bullet wound. Neteyam gasped, clawing weakly at his vest.
“Dad,” he choked. “Lo’ak -Lo’ak’s still on the ship-”
Jake’s heart had faltered. A violent, sickening misfire.The way of water has no beginning and no end. The sea gives and the sea takes.
