Nicholas thinks it's fate.
Euijoo thinks fate sounds suspiciously like a recommendation and he has never been good at taking those. Not from his friends, not from strangers, and certainly not from the universe. If he falls in love, it will be his own decision.
Unfortunately for Euijoo, Nicholas is just as stubborn as he is.
Or: a record store, a viral kiss, terrible timing, and two idiots who keep choosing each other anyway.

Summary
Euijoo’s been… off. Not in the way people get when they’re sad or sick or breaking apart quietly in the corners of their lives. On paper, everything looks fine. Better than fine, actually. He laughs more. He hums while brushing his teeth. He sways a little when the kettle whistles, like there’s a song in his head no one else can hear. Sometimes he sings under his breath—love songs, mostly, the kind that make Nicholas’s chest tighten without knowing why. He tells himself it’s stupid to care. That it’s not about jealousy, or fear, or whatever fragile thing his heart is pretending not to feel. But the thought itches at him: if Euijoo’s happy, why does it feel like he lost something in the process?
Or; Euijoo has a crush, and Nicholas fucking hates it. Even though he's the one who's kept Euijoo hanging for years.

“I’m glad the conference is over,” Kei admitted and sent Fuma a strange, crooked smile. “But I’ll kind of miss sharing a room.”
Fuma’s elbow twitched. Would Kei resist if she dragged her back out of the closing lift right now? “We’ll see each other at work,” Fuma offered instead.
Kei turned her head to look at her again, slightly down. “I would like that.”
Fuma has to share a hotel room with Koga Yudai, star manager, whom she’s harboured a light crush on since the day she joined the company. The feeling is mutual.

If someone asked Euijoo what she dreaded about her enrollment in university the most, she’d likely skip her usual monologue about inconvenient morning classes she was forced to take up and go straight to the deathly sleep deprivation of a physics major or the monumental self-restraint required daily to share two hundred square feet with Nicholas, her obnoxiously beautiful roommate. Euijoo could always skip one of those early tortures disguised as lectures, but there was no escaping the way Nicholas kept her life constantly on a live wire.
