Set three years after the conclusion of Impulse, it's summer in Manchester, Alabama once again. Preston Lindsay, now eighteen years old and enjoying his last summer before college begins, finds himself once again reminiscing on the past and on Bart Allen. Three years and there's been no word from his best friend. But one day he reappears and neither Preston or Bart are the same again.
The voice drew him back. It drew him back in time, way waaaaaaaaaay back. Just like Alice finding her way to Wonderland, his mind followed a brown hare down the rabbit hole as he was pulled back to junior high, back to when the sun shined brighter, when each day meant a new adventure with his best friend with his funny quirks and ways. He heard his voice and knew it shouldn’t have been possible. His hand trembled the slightest. His mouth felt dry. He didn’t want to lower his camera and be disappointed that his ears were tricking him. He didn’t want to know that he had just misheard the voice, but he could have sworn he heard him, he heard....“Bart?”

Cissie lets herself be led away by the woman, briefly looking behind her to glance at Cassie, who’s still standing there like a deer in headlights. Her expression is utterly unreadable, and just above her eyebrow is a cut covered in dried blood. It worries Cassie, Gods, it scares the hell out of her.
It’s too familiar, too similar to back then. Only this time there’s no Kon and Cissie looks a little more lucid and wearing a plain white blouse and jeans and her mother is putting the kettle on like it’s a normal Saturday, and not a brain rewiring event.

As Cassie faces old questions about herself, Arrowette is spotted back in the hero life, forcing Cassie to consider that maybe those questions have answers after all.

Noodle has a "girl she's been talking to," 2D's found his inner peace, Russel doesn't have to worry about holding the band together, and Murdoc is more pleasant to be around (he even showers now). But Noodle still has some hesitation about bringing home this "girl she's been talking to" to her band, and Murdoc and Russel might have some hesitation about letting Noodle grow up.
