When the Divine calls for a Conclave between the Templars and the Mages, spies are sent from groups all over Thedas to witness the event. Tevinter is no different. But when the Veil between demons and the living is torn in a massive explosion, she is the only one left standing, her hand marked with an arcane power understood by no one.
Her master is dead. Those chains are broken. But new ones tie her to the Breach in the sky, which only this strange mark can close. Now she takes on a new name: the Herald. And still she claws her way to freedom despite the Inquisition that relies on her for so much.
Amidst the suffering, the death, and the trauma, she must carve an identity for herself. And more than that, she must decide what matters more in the end: absolute freedom for herself alone, or making the world a fairer place for others, strangers and those she has learned to love as well.

And after meeting Cole, and growing close to the other members of the Inquisition, there might be more reason to stay in this land of magic and dragons than she'd originally believed.

Summary
When he wakes up, he's not himself. Not that he can remember what being 'himself' even means. All he has is a pounding headache and a name, 'The Dark Urge'.
Oh, and memories of the real world and over 500 plus hours of playtime in Baldur's Gate 3.
Now he's stuck inside the game, with no idea how he got there or what the fuck is going on. And very quickly, he'll realise that the real world of Faerun is nothing like the game. Shit hurts, there's no maps, fast travel, or save scumming. And people are far more complicated than simple video game characters.
If he can keep himself alive and make it through this, perhaps there's something waiting for him in Faerun, a life he can build for himself. But the urge is just as real as everything else, and it's out for blood.
All he wants is to find his freedom before the game kills him or the urge overtakes him.

Kukla didn’t remember ever being alone in the base before. It was aware that there were many things that it did not remember. Remembering was not an important part of its functions, so the people who had made kukla sometimes did something to it that removed its memories. So maybe it had been on its own before and it didn’t know that.
It waited in its tube for a long time, where it was often placed out of the way even when it wasn’t in cold storage. When it seemed like no one was coming back and it got lonely, it placed itself in soldat’s tube instead for a while. But if there were no people here anymore, then soldat was probably not going to come back here. Soldat went where his handlers went, and his handlers had all left kukla alone here.
This is mostly about D/s and trauma, with complex power dynamics.

Percy was four years old the first time his dreams led him to his many-great-grandmother’s chambers- a woman long dead yet somehow still seated in front of him, fingers grasping at her hair tightly as she wails about a wooden horse on the beach while her servants look on in pity. He feels the weight of something ancient and heavy settle on his shoulders in that moment.
He was in his 1st grade classroom when his teacher screamed at him for making up lies about gods and monsters and scaring the other children. He was eight when his mother's own visions become too much for her to bear.
He's at Yancy when Grover Underwood finally finds him and says "I believe you" for the first time. And as Percy begins to feel lighter, that ancient weight that has followed him his whole life slowly dissipating, he realizes that being believed can be just as horrifying as being thought mad.
