    “We didn’t date. We hooked up a few times, then you disappeared.” Shane looked away to hide his heartbreak as he lied, “It doesn’t even matter. It’s not like I loved you or anything.”

    “No, of course not.” Ilya tried to smile through a lie of his own, “I didn’t love you either.”

    Ilya mysteriously quits the league after 2014, to take care of his father. Ends up having twins with sveta and they get married to make things easier.
    Shane keeps skating a wonders what happened. An awful leg injury forces him to medically retire years later and he retreats to small town Canada to lick his wounds. Turns out there's another former player in town...Ilya Rozanov, a single dad of twin girls and bakery owner.

    Shane get roped into coaching a U9 girls hockey team rediscovering that hockey can be fun. He and Ilya reconnect, but Shane still has a lot of work to do and is scared of committing, not just to Ilya but to everything.
    Shane gets scared and breaks things off BC he needs to work on himself, but hurts both himself and Ilya in the process. Processing things is helping though and David is great. He might be ready to all things out with Ilya instead of just working in isolation. .

    So much has happened. They have yearned and gotten back together, finally actually talked about a lot of things and seem to finally be getting on the same page. Shane stepped in and stepped up when mayday got hurt, they are taking things slow physically so they can build actual trust before jumping into bed again. Though that seems just around the corner.

If this is really happening, if Shane is actually by some miracle getting another shot at this, then he’s going to have to play this smart. His impatience to see Ilya again will have to be tempered. He’s not sure how time travel works, but he has the sneaking suspicion that one wrong move could unravel everything.

    Ilya is alive.

    Just the thought of it is enough to make Shane crack his first smile in a year.

When faced with the opportunity to do it right this time, and keep Ilya for good, Shane knows that every decision he makes will be crucial. It's terrifying, but Ilya once told him that he's brave. Now it's up to Shane to prove it.

    Once he goes back he's so damn determined to love Ilya better, it's devastating but also very sweet.

    First you’ve got Ottawa’s own Shane Hollander - from everything we’ve seen and heard he may not be the most sociable but this is the man with the highest climate science IQ out there. Incredibly smart, incredibly dedicated to climate justice, and incredibly hot.

    Then you’ve got Russia’s Ilya Rozanov strong on social media, strong with the ladies, and from everything we’ve heard he really gets under other storm chaser’s skins - viral on his own channels, not exactly liked by the meteorologist community.

    So far has been very sweet story of two lonely lovely men opening up and getting to know one another and being surprised at their automatic willingness to be vulnerable with each other...with some nudging from their BFFs sveta and rose.

    More progression on deciding that they want to work together in addition to being together, and that they want to try to set up a life that will facilitate them being together rather than just hoping it works. Very sweet actually.

    'My Best Friend's Wedding' style Hollanov. Really good so far. They are both suffering watching their lives get married to each other but the event brings them together, which might be worth it.

    Falling is effortless. Keeping it requires work, but it's worth it.
