But apparently, God's sister had the hots for him and was giving him a "second chance."
Waking up in 2001 before Stanford - before everything, Dean knew what he had to do.
This time, he'd save everyone he'd failed or die trying.
(This time, Sam would have that apple-pie life he had always wanted.)
Or: time travel fix it, where instead of Mary being resurrected at the s11, Dean gets sent back in time to before Sam leaves for Stanford.

He’s had plenty of body aches, and he’s no stranger to sleeping limbs, but this is a new kind of lack of feeling spreading through his bones like a disease. His vision blurs and his mind drifts in and out like a sketchy radio station.
He almost calls out, but his voice dies in his throat, suddenly feeling tired. More tired than before, breathing is hard; not panic-attack-hard, or not-having-enough-air-hard, but as in his lungs just won’t put in the effort to expand; they too had gone achingly numb.
Why hasn’t Sam stood up? Is he also experiencing this strange out-of-body trip? Dean hopes not, then they’re both screwed.

Aziraphale is actually doing a great job in Heaven, but obviously cannot let go of Crowley. He has Muriel and half a legion of guardian angels keeping tabs on him to make sure he is alright.
Crowley, still feeling miserable and dejected, doesn't care much for it. Clearly Aziraphale is merely trying to soothe is bad conscience and this only serves to make the demon angrier. If the damned angel is in any way interested in Crowley's life, he can come back down, so Crowley can tell him to leave again.

A story about the idea of Aziraphale trying his very best to make Crowley less miserable while remaining in heaven and having no qualms about abusing his powers as Supreme Archangel to do so.
It does get a bit tricky though when he'd like to scare away people who appreciate Crowley and his wonderful self a little bit too much. An angel can't just turn potential suitors into pillars of salt. Can he?

Renfield had died, again. This time, he died fighting. He died protecting someone he cared about that wasn't Dracula; Rebecca. Part of him, a very small part, hoped that this time he would stay dead. He hoped that he could die here, after years of serving a vampire, knowing that he had died doing something good for once in his life. Yet, like always, he didn't stay dead long.
One minute he had been dead on the ground in the Lobo's torture room, the next he felt Dracula’s blood dripping down his throat. At the time, he didn't have time to contemplate what was going on, the second he opened his eyes and saw Rebecca in trouble, he jumped to his feet and helped her. And by some miracle, at the end of the day, Dracula was dead.
Except things can never be that simple, can they?
