The soft, soothing haze, the blessed silence - inner silence, at least, which was enough in itself to make external sound bearable and sometimes even pleasant - that enveloped him only in moments of surrender was…addicting, almost. Once he knew it, once he'd discovered how good it felt to give himself over and let Jaskier take the reins of control from his hands so that Geralt could simply be, in whatever way Jaskier wanted him, he wanted more. And more. And still more.

Summary
Geralt has gone to knees in front of Jaskier, arms held behind him and chin raised high. He’s sitting on his heels, shoulders back. His posture is better than any submissive Jaskier has ever seen; like he has been waiting a long, long time.
Like it is all that he needs.
“Geralt,” Jaskier starts, but there are no more words in him right then.
Geralt’s eyes are still pitch black, and he is bleeding sluggishly from a dozen different wounds, whining low at the sound of his name. The potions help him in a fight, but they’re hard on his body, and he’s taken far too many of them if his eyes haven’t shifted back yet. He tilts his head to the side, exposing the column of his throat, and something sings through Jaskier that he cannot even begin to quell. Geralt is on his knees.
Geralt is on his knees for Jaskier.
“Oh, darling,” Jaskier says, reaching down to cup his cheek, watching the way his head lolls into the touch. His breathing starts to even out as Jaskier brushes the hair back from his face with his other hand, running gentle fingers over his brow. “You’ve been keeping secrets.”

Summary
For as long as he can remember, Zuko knew he would have no say in who he would marry. Anyone familiar with basic royal customs would realize it as well. Marriage wasn’t a luxury or some grand display of love; marriage was for convenience and a power move if done correctly. It meant nothing to Zuko. He was raised with the knowledge that he would one day be sent off to live with a stranger for the sake of his nation, and it didn’t matter if he ended up happy or not. His happiness didn't matter.
All this to say, when his father tells him that he is to marry a stranger from the Southern Water Tribe and use their marriage as an opportunity to spy on the enemy, Zuko knows he has no choice. It's just...he didn't expect this stranger to be so kind to him.
