“Are. You. Free.”
Those were the three words that signaled to him what the other person really wanted from him. It didn't matter what it started with, as long as the person would ask if he was “free.”
And he always was.
“Are you free?” That’s how it always started, whenever he heard those words now, his jaw started to ache, tongue feeling heavy, his heart however, it hammered in his chest. It was like a routine. He knew which people would ask, when they’d ask, and where.
Just like now.────
Sparrow has a reputation. A very, very worrying reputation. And Nick doesn't want to believe it. He never wanted to. After trying to avoid the inevitable, Nick came face to face with the harsh truth.

Summary
“Don't ever speak to me like that.”
An eye roll and a small smile was Sparrow's only reply. He didn't fight back. He just let his chin rest on Nick's aflame sword, and continued to look up at Nick, letting his blood continue to flow freely. He looked just as good as the last time he did that.
“Why are you smiling? Why aren't you healing yourself?” Why was he displaying his injuries, the injuries Nick had created, for him to see? Red bloomed on Sparrows face as a bruise started to form on his sun kissed skin.
Blood dripping, smile widening, bruise blooming, he was perfect. Sparrow batted his eyelashes at Nick. He looked perfect. “Do you want me to heal myself?”
“...No.”────
Tensions rise as Nick and Sparrow are placed into a locked room for safekeeping. Feelings hidden under mountains of regrets and betrayals finally surface, and their burning anger can only last this long.
It was their choice if they'd burn each other down to the ground, or let their embers finally calm.
