With no sponsors and no confidence in her own appeal, the true fights often take place on the journey. She sees in herself a boring battler with a boyish appearance who's too old to draw the eyes of big money sponsors.
That's not what her espeon sees. Her sole partner, Sense, is infatuated in ways her trainer would surely see as forbidden. She'd do anything for Anabel to get over her self-image problem and see herself as a girl worth loving. She'll fight other trainers, pokémon, and her own jealousy at the prospect of sharing Anabel's attention to get Anabel to love herself... and hopefully Sense, too.
But as the two partners venture onwards, dreams of rapture start to seem a bit less like dreams. A meteor she saw as a nightmare may be a potential reality that only she seems to know about.

But once this idea burrowed its way into my brain, I could not get it out except by writing the damned story. So here’s the one where Sango stays an enemy.
