After a lab accident leaves Ryland Grace, an Omega, allergic to at least five different brands of suppressants and heat-blockers, he eventually gives in and signs up for something known as a Pairing Program.
See, Grace’s situation wasn’t actually all that uncommon. Plenty of Alphas and Omegas developed allergies or intolerances overtime to their medications. Sometimes people became immune to the effects, sometimes people just didn’t enjoy taking them.
All Grace was really looking for when he signed up for this program was for an Alpha that would treat him nicely and would help him feel less miserable during his heats.
He never expected to fall in love.

The woman addressed by Fern turns, and it’s like the morning sun peeking behind a curtain. Her face lights up, crinkling the lines sprouting beside her blue eyes, and she greets just as giddily, “Hi sweetheart!”
Without hesitancy, with a comfortable familiarity, Miss Grace lifts Fern and places her on her hip. Fern has the soft material of her cardigan clutched in one hand, and gesturing wildly with the other. It’s a sight that Simon has grown increasingly familiar with over the years. His daughter chats a mile a minute about the book she finished, the one Simon is currently putting into the return bin while observing the exchange with a fond expression.
