    “Do you agree?” Julian asked.

    “With what, doctor?”

“That people mean the things they do when they drink. You know. Just because they were drunk doesn’t mean they don’t mean it when they do it?”

Julian shows up at Garak's quarters extremely drunk and with something very important to say. Unfortunately, he's also not very coherent.

There's really no silence like the car ride after a family dinner.

During dinner with the O'Brien's, Molly asks why Julian and Garak aren't married yet. Julian and his commitment issues manage to put his foot right in it, to Garak's displeasure.

The best way to handle it is to discuss it. Garak would rather not. Neither would Julian, but here we go.

A shuttle crash leaves Julian injured and in serious need of first aid. Fortunately, Garak has never been squeamish about blood.

Once he gets Julian patched up, the two men hunker down to wait for rescue, and there's not much to do but talking.

    Summary

A selection of correspondence between Councilor Elim Garak and Dr. Julian Bashir, after the Dominion War.

    My dear Elim,

I’m sorry to say the days seem to have slipped away from me. I think you’ll just have to settle for seeing me when I’m planetside. I hope you do forgive me. There were an awful lot of preparations, and I took the liberty of packing up some of the things you left in your shop. They’ve been in a cargo bay, so I can’t vouch for the condition of them, but I thought it was a shame for all that fine artistry to go to waste. I think this should reach you in plenty of time to get a response back before I leave, so do let me know if there’s anything specific you’d like me to retrieve for you. A data rod in the bulkhead, perhaps? I might even eat it, if you ask very nicely!

    Yours,
    Julian
