“Caine?” Pomni asked again. The orb drifted up and down in a nod. “How do I know it’s you? Why do you look so…” Small, weird, different. She’d been anticipating seeing a Caine clawing at the walls, or crying, or yelling. How ever she imagined finding Caine, he looked like, well, Caine. Not this.

The plan was simple: undelete Caine, get the Circus back up and running, and place some restrictions so Caine couldn't mess with them.
Unfortunately, Caine and the Circus are a little more complicated than meets the eye.

The 'Escape the Circus' adventure had been a disaster. The cast knows it. Caine knows it. Both parties have ideas on how to fix things, but what if the humans got to theirs first? And what if it meant disasterous consequences for Caine? Not that they know that.
(title partly inspired by 'Animal' from The Living Tombstone, which is Caine's general vibe for the fic)

“WHAT, WHAT DID YOU-!” He gripped at his head, nearly toppling over, but too distracted to care. His fingers began to trace and grip at his once pristine white teeth of enamel, now a muted silvery metal and jagged and WRONG. What is this?! “WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?!”
OR: Caine is brought back, but with some new features. His abilities are limited, and if they so desire, the humans have a way to shut him up. His teeth have been replaced with a zipper. Some use this for amusement, others as revenge, some only as necessary. The path it leads down is full of mis-steps, but they'll keep stumbling along together.
