Pomni couldn’t fall back asleep.
This wasn’t a new issue, after all she’d always been a bit of an insomniac. Even in her time before the circus, she’d often found herself struggling to sleep through the night.
Like every other unwitting night owl, she had her tricks to survive until morning regardless. White noise, a warm drink, or if all else failed, a book.
None of those tricks were working tonight.
Which is probably why she ended up in Jax’s tent.

Pomni tries to teach him how to be kind. How to apologize. How to talk about his emotions without feeling like he’s dying. Little by little, Jax starts to change.
Then Caine announces an adventure on a snowy mountain filled with hot chocolate, gingerbread men, and teamwork.
