“Are you here to rub it in?” Finally, Kuya speaks, but his voice lacks the amusement, the taunting lilt that usually colors every word coming out of his mouth. His lips look dry as Quincy’s gaze glides over them and watches as they suck on the pipe listlessly.
“No,” Quincy says, and he means it. What would rubbing anything in even accomplish? He isn’t like Kuya. He doesn’t care about winning, about being right. It is true that, in some capacity, he is glad that Huey is gone. In the end, he hopes that Kuya could understand, even if he knows it will never happen.
In which Kuya copes badly with huey being gone and Quincy, seeing Kuya in such a vulnerable state, is compelled to help.

“Oh, bullshit! I know you Quincy, and I know you well! Don’t fucking lie to me! I won’t tolerate it!”
Quincy shut his mouth, and watched as Kuya stood there for a moment, breathing, steadying himself. And then, after a long beat of silence, the fox ran a hand through his hair and walked towards the door. “I need some air,” was all he said before leaving.
Quincy couldn’t even tell him to be safe.

"Are you saying you forgot where I live?" Quincy asks, amused. Even if that were possible, Kuya is as good of a tracker as he is. Better, even. There's nowhere in the forest Quincy can hide if the yokai wants to find him.
Kuya smiles, sly and mocking. "As if I could miss it," he says, "even if the whole place wasn't stinking of rut."
Or, Kuya helps Quincy through his rut.
