Barry wasn’t sure if he liked the new guy, but he was damn sure Wally didn’t. Tension permeated missions, briefings, and any interaction in Watchtower community spaces. Any opportunity to disagree with each other no matter how small and inconsequential was taken with bitter enthusiasm.
The JL attempted to bring on Nightwing for years. Founding member of the Titans and long suspected to be their leader, Nightwing was a legend among Justice League affiliates and independent heroes.
And Wally hated the guy.

"Jay" he groans and Dick shakes him harder as he squirms and pushes him off. There's light peeking through the blackout curtains and he doesn't quite feel sick but he does feel achy and kinda sweaty. His stomach is still cramping like he ate something bad, his lower back hurts, and his ribs and head are throbbing. "Little Wing you're bleeding" he blinks, looking at his brother who is already dressed for the day, he must have let Jason sleep in. "Fine, probably just stitches or something" he doesn't actually remember any recent patrol injuries right now and he doesn't care to.
"Okay you still have to treat it Jay" he groans when Dick yanks the covers back "Leave me alone Dickhead, I'm tired" he moans but he hears Dick's sharp intake of breath even as the blankets are pulled back over him. For one blissful second he thinks he's going to be left alone to sleep. But the mattress dips under Dick's weight as a hand settles awkwardly on his shoulder. "Hey sweetheart you- I think you um- I think you got your period."
OR
Dick babysits Jason, Jason gets his first period, and Wally tries to help.

He has nearly proposed to the skyline, a half-empty cereal box, the bed, Donna, and possibly Bruce via comms.
Timing is a joke.
A bad one. A really, really cruel one.
And Wally is not laughing.
But whatever. Iris told him not to overthink a plan and just go with the flow. It’s much easier that way. Give up control and let time decide for itself.
So Wally hides the ring, hoping Dick will never find it and just… doesn't think about it.
Wally finally proposes to the love of his life— except… it didn't go as planned.

There, sitting in Wally’s right hand, is the plush giraffe he had given to Dick all those years ago at the carnival. The plush itself had now become worn down, its colours muted, with rips and tears and snags around the body of the animal; it was even missing a whole eye.
Neither man said anything for a few long, agonising moments.
Wally turns his head to stare at the face of his beloved, bright blue meeting soft green.
And in that singular moment, as Wally watched Dick’s cheeks begin to flush pink and the way his eyes went wide, the speedster had never felt more in love with the vigilante than at that very second.
OR
Wally gives Dick a plush toy that he won from a carnival game. Unexpectedly, the plushie turns up again years later.
