The only sign of life was the mist she exhaled, fogging the smooth surface like a fleeting memory fading on a winter morning. Her chest rose and fell so little it was as though her body had forgotten how to breathe properly. The stillness pressed against her like a heavy weight. Her eyelids remained shut, even as the warmth of the awakening process began to stir her from the depths of suspended time.

Uzi’s newly gradient optics stared back her at the broken mirror in the back of her locker, some of the weight of what exactly she’d gone through settling onto her shoulders as she pulled off her headphones, her CPU a whirlwind of everything-
“You look great,” A highly synthesized voice spoke up as her tail slunk its way past her, glowing yellow eyes scrutinizing her. “Hmm.” With a quick dart out of the locker, her Tail commented “Have you considered a bow, though?” while dropping a bow on her head. Uzi’s only response was a quick slamming shut of her locker.

She scrambles for insults to throw or distractions to find. She can’t be killed yet, not yet. She’s taking this thing down with her. She continues to drag herself backward toward her gun, half-buried in a snowdrift, and blurts, “W-Well, that’s boring! Just going to off me just like that? I-I thought murder drones liked to play with their food more.”
