Summary
Lambert never told Aiden about his past experience-- or lack thereof-- when it comes to these things. Part of him suspects that Aiden already knows; he takes things as slow as Lambert wants, always asking for his permission before doing anything new, and never commenting on the fact that this is all unfamiliar territory. Even so, Lambert always finds himself a bit taken aback when Aiden initiates something they’ve never done before.
Which is why he nearly jumps out of his skin when they’re making out in their shared room at an inn and Aiden rolls them over so that he’s straddling Lambert, then in a voice sweet as honey murmurs, “I want to fuck you. Can I?”

Twenty years ago, the Warlord of the North came down out of the mountains and slew the king of Kaedwen, taking crown and kingdom for his own. Everyone expected him to be overthrown almost immediately, but he has only grown ever more secure in his position. Finally, the other countries around Kaedwen have begun to negotiate with him as they would any other king.
To seal the new treaty between Redania and the Warlord, Lady Milena de Roggeven, third daughter of the Duke of Roggeven, has been sent to marry whichever of the Warlord’s men he chooses.
Milena is starkly terrified of everything about her new husband; every rumor she has ever heard about the barbarians of the north seems worse than the last, and Lambert clearly despises the very thought of marriage.
Lambert of the Wolves is still grieving his lost lover, dead more than three years now. The last thing he wants is to be married off to a terrified stranger, and he can’t imagine why Geralt and Eskel think he of all people is suited to a diplomatic marriage.

He sits and stares at the lake for hours, lets himself go cold with lack of movement, and it's Bucky who brings him a blanket. A cup of herbal tea that never tastes of anything even when it should. Company, sitting down next to him, while Sam shivers.
If Bucky dreams, he’s quiet about it, but Sam knows that doesn’t mean he’s okay. Honestly, he never actually sees Barnes sleeping. He’s sitting up, on the couch, when Sam goes to bed, and he’s sitting up, same spot, when Sam stumbles awake again.
