In Spellbound canon, this is because Mirage was pulling some bullshit. Here? Summary
The stars are slowly vanishing.
It's Shockwave's job to stop that, but yesterday a castaway thunked against his ship, the Seraph, and after pulling him out of a ship that was less of a spaceworthy vessel and more of an iron lung, getting his oxygen levels up, and rehydrating him, Shockwave keeps discovering that Blurr is from... just... just a very bad place.
But Blurr is also the first human being Shockwave has seen in ages, and that's playing with his emotions in no small way.
And Shockwave is the single most perfect being Blurr has ever seen, and it's messing with his head in no small way.
Longarm Prime is a snakey-olm-gator-armadillo-lobster alien, and he's very excited to meet the new human he rescued from a doomed timeline without telling anyone that's what he was doing.
Based on Keferon's Space Roommates AU, a Humanformers/Bloody Mary mashup kind of thing. Follows Reach, For The Stars and Without Hope Of Recovery.

Blurr is lost in space, sealed up in a shitty little scout ship that's not far from becoming a coffin. He has no idea how he ended up anywhere near Shockwave's very fancy spaceship, or why Shockwave is being so generous, or what to do now-- mostly he's just sure Shockwave is the most beautiful man he's ever seen, and it's stopping him from thinking about anything sensible.
Keferon's Space Roommates AU is a humanformers Bloody Mary AU, and it amused me to let Shockwave take the jaws of life to the Iron Lung.

Or, the ship with the technology to save the stars-- and thus, the universe-- is adrift, because its pilot lost an arm, and the controls require two hands. The alien sent to help him has two arms... but his species never evolved eyes, so he's not as much help as he wants to be.
But when your murky-water-swimming, cave-and-burrow-dwelling evolution gave your species the ability to stretch out alien senses and locate more esoteric qualities than 'edible' or 'inedible,' and the literal fate of the universe is on the line...

Summary
Blurr's potion and spellwork successfully carved Shockwave out of the demonic shell that had trapped him, vulnerable and enslaved, at the mercy of anyone who summoned him. Weakened from the ordeal, the pair left the abandoned shrine where the deed was done, the only evidence of a magically-talented knight doing the impossible being the thick coating of purple ash and dust all over the shrine's gray floor. In this AU, Sentinel, a knight, a monster hunter, and a complete crankshaft, found that demonic detritus,
swept it uphad it swept into a neat pile, and restored what he thought was all there was of Shockwave to a state where he could be useful again.The resulting being is made entirely of demonic magic, with no condemned mech at his core. No spark to extinguish, no processor to wipe. He's still bound to obey Blurr's orders, and to answer Blurr without lies, because it was Blurr who summoned him, and he is Blurr's until Blurr dismisses him or dies.
He was only supposed to get a quick one-shot AU, but then something Happened to Blurr and he wouldn't stop growling until I started writing.

Owen Grady speaks Raptor, but it's a language he learned through immersion, the same way his girls learned English. Owen Grady also speaks Parseltongue, but that's because he's a wizard with a bonus gift. It doesn't change a lot about his work, until it really, really changes a lot about his work.

Laugh as Jorgi explains why Jägers are so irresistable to de vimminz! Despair as certain inevitable plot mechanics roll on without us! Facepalm at irony so thick you could spread it on toast!
An AU that grew legs and ran away with me: What exactly are the implications of a hidden Heterodyne falling hard for a Jäger and refusing to get involved in any stupid love triangles with more politically (and socially, and possibly ethically) appropriate suitors?
I will keep writing this until I feel like I'll run it up a lamppost if I go any further. Installment length may vary wildly. Working title for Part 9: Show.

And it would all have been relatively simple and easy if it weren't for two giant alien jet robots throwing her airspace into chaos.
