Zhongli, to his credit, looks like he deliberates it for a moment. “No,” he says, as Ganyu wholly expects him too.
“You…” She struggles. “Civilian, Zhongli, you must hand Barbatos to me."
Zhongli glances at her again, then back to the sea. “...No,” He says again, with more thought behind it.Durin rises from the dead, and so, of course, it is Venti's problem. (And then when he decides to take a little nap about it, it becomes Zhongli's problem.) (Which then, of course, makes it everyone else's problem.)

Summary
There were many things that weighed heavy on a god’s shoulders. For Morax, one of those was the bloodshed and nightmares that plagued Xiao. Another was the mistake of formally introducing the free spirited God of Song to the suffering yaksha that so valiantly protected his land.
It had been out of benevolence, really. An effort to bring a shimmer of joy to Xiao’s otherwise grim existence. Xiao had mentioned, once, that music brought him an incomparable calmness. The details were fuzzy, at least to Morax, of how Xiao came to know of Barbatos. But Morax knows one irrefutable truth: any melody from Barbatos, whether by flute or otherwise, was heavenly, perfect.
So it made sense. Barbatos’ sweet song could be a balm to the ache that would never truly be erased. So, Morax made the arrangements, because while he was the God of Contracts, he also appreciated the beauty of song.
Zhongli regretted it immediately.
in which zhongli thinks it's time for xiao and venti to formally meet. xiao is then an unwilling participant in what zhongli perceives is a love triangle. zhongli gets jealous and realizes he may be too late to finally be with venti.

In which Venti, Zhongli, and Nahida signed a joke contract centuries ago that might be less of a joke now…
In which Nahida was forcibly imprisoned, didn’t know she was halting the dreams of the Sumeru people, and broke out to find Venti—in the hope that their contract is still valid.
In which no one but Diluc and Jean knew about the whole Archon thing, and Kaeya may have a problem with this. Rosaria too, but she's quieter about it.

Summary
The Nameless Bard appears in modern-day Mondstadt, right in front of the church’s statue of Barbatos. Given the striking resemblance between the newly-appeared boy and their own absent god, the people of Mondstadt understandably assume that Lord Barbatos has returned to them at last.
