Summary
Inspired by an AU prompt from Twitter user Tiger21.
Zoey is struggling. Work sucks, life is a constant drag, and even her hobby as a streamer feels more like work than fun at times. One of her only real comforts is her favourite artist, Rumi, seems to be moving into a new era, one Zoey is excited to follow. So, when a chatter starts to help with her cash flow problems, maybe a little give and take is fair play? When her friend Mira comes back into her life, and with this new bit of fun on the horizon, maybe things are starting to look up?
Rumi is finally free. After years of struggling under the light and airy image the studio had chained her to, her contract is over, and she can make the music she wants, do the things she wants, and she can stop putting on the performance. When one of her only real outlets, a small streamer who seems to be a fan that she has found herself watching time and time again, admits to having money problems, she doesn't think twice about throwing cash at the issue. When it starts to become more than that, she starts to hope that maybe this new chapter in her life will have some new characters too.

Summary
Ryu Miyeong was born a slave. Owned by no other than influential Kim Celine, she fell for her since the moment she saw her on that cage. She trained her herself, taught her to speak, write and read, taught her limits, rules, discipline, taught her how to cook, taught her how to tend to her needs and gave her chores.
She had forgiven her pregnancy. She had allowed her to keep her... offspring. And Miyeong had payed her with treason, with rebellion. That ungrateful slave. Miyeong's cries and pleads meant nothing to Celine, she had already decided to punish her accordingly. Gwi-Ma was ecstatic when Celine approached him as she 'owed' him a thank you gift after he had saved part of her company from bankrupt and she knew the infant would do.
And it did.
Kang Mira and Choi Zoey needed to keep appearances, specially after Mira's family ultimatum. Looking for a low maintenance slave shouldn't have felt so wrong, strolling through that slave trade market shouldn't have made them sick on the stomach and having to pretend they enjoyed the agonizing cries of a slave being merciless punished shouldn't have broke them.
Except it did.

Mira stopped her, "Sit, I'll clean up." Zoey handed her plate over without question and stretched out on the couch with her phone. Mira went to take the dishes Rumi had gathered, but she didn't let go.
"What? No, you pulled this miracle of a breakfast together after I almost set it on fire, let me clean." She went to rise and take the dishes back from Mira, but the taller girl stood firm.
"I appreciate the thought, but the last time you did the dishes, we were down two plates and you somehow bent a pair of stainless steel chopsticks." A sly smile pulled at Mira's lips as she recalled 'chopstick-gate 2024'. "I got it."
She pulled on the plate again, but Rumi still wouldn't let go.
"Cmon Mira, you cooked, let me clean. Or at least let me -"
"Rumi." Mira's voiced dropped low, and her tone pulled Rumi's gaze up to meet her own. "Drop it."
Rumi blinked up at her and her traitorous hand loosened without her permission. Her patterns flared a dark but vivid pink for an instant, and she said a meek "Thank you."
Mira simply hummed in acknowledgement and turned towards the kitchen before Rumi could catch the smirk creeping across her face. Zoey smiled, she knew that tone all too well.
