Angel picked up the gun out of habit. After all, it wasn’t safe to leave a firearm lying on the floor. He instinctively checked the cylinder, just to see if it was loaded, and froze when he saw a glow.
Only one chamber was loaded, but it wasn’t an ordinary bullet. This one was white, shining with an ethereal swirl of golden energy engulfing it, unmistakably holy.
He couldn’t believe his eyes. Holy bullets were rare, even by Valentino’s standards. Seeing the bullet, already sitting in its chamber, with a truly helpless Valentino tied to a chair…
He felt his stomach turn.
His eyes moved to Valentino’s, a sadistic grin beginning to form. “Well would ya look at that, must be my lucky day.”
