Summary
The Elmo Incident is a One-Shot story that takes place within the Awakenings Universe. This tale fits into the time-line as a missing scene within the novella Kaleidoscope; for reference, the events in The Elmo Incident take place between the action in chapters 13 and 14.
Since Kaleidoscope is told from Steve’s point of view, he has only heard mention of the “Elmo Incident” that took place while he was terribly ill. Now we learn exactly how Tony came to acquire a stuffed Elmo for Steve, and the toll his critical condition is taking on his team and especially his lover, Tony Stark.

At times, the stories will be direct sequels to the story that came before. At other times, stories will skip along the timeline, but the characters and situations will always remain true to those introduced in the first story. The universe will also include “One Shots,” which are mini stories usually connected to a larger story, and could include a missing scene, or a scene told from a different character’s point of view, or even told by a different author.
