I think over the name of the game. Passe Dix… it sounds familiar, but that might just be that I think I know the translation of the game name.
“... Pass ten?” Kairi scowls at me.
“Non non, Passe Dix, often translated to passage. Isn't the royal investigator supposed to know things like that?”
“Ah… but I was so sure it was… never mind. Passe Dix, what is it?” I watch as Kairi reaches into the pocket of his jester outfit, I didn't even know that thing had pockets, and he pulls out 3 dice.
They're obviously well taken care of, the dots having what seems to be a fairly new layer of black paint. He seems amused by how closely I'm looking at them, rolling them over slightly in his hand so I can look at the other sides of the dice.
“It's a simple game, really. For each round we take turns rolling these three dice. The goal is to get 10 or higher. Anything below a 10 is an instant loss, and the highest number wins.” Kairi explains.
