Summary
The whole building seems silent as Law and Hisaya lean over the open chest.
They’re both covered in blood and injuries, but they stay standing, knowing they’re going to have to bring the rest of the crew back onto the ship for treatment. For now, though, they sit there, in awe of their new acquisition.
“That’s a lot of fucking jewels,” Hisaya finally comments.
“Almost three million berries, apparently.”
Hisaya whistles in admiration. “Not bad! You’re gonna get a few good meals out of that.”
Law chuckles, too tired for a real answer. Then, he looks over to her.
“You’re really strong,” he says.
“I know,” she replies darkly.

Summary
He remembers the day he met her for the first time incredibly well, even after all this time. It’s as if the memory has been carved into his mind. It’s funny, he thinks now, that he hadn’t realized how in love with her he was while he was traveling with her. Even when he could recount every single detail of the night they met for the first time. Even if he thought about it all the time.

Summary
It was at that point, about a rung away from being able to look through the open window, that Todd began to hear voices. They sounded familiar; in fact, he was certain they belonged to Other Them, but something about their soft tone gave him pause. He stopped climbing and strained his ears, already beginning to regret this whole thing.
“What’s happened?” Dirk shout-whispered underneath him.
“Nothing, just… Hold on.”
Todd hesitantly placed his hand on the last rung and pulled himself up so that only his eyes peeked over the windowsill. Yup. Big mistake. Maximum regret.
When a case has Dirk and Todd stumped, they decide to jump forward in time and ask their future selves for advice. Uncomfortable situations and overdue realizations ensue.
