  Summary

  Some say ghosts linger on for unfinished business. The soul of Rorschach is far more concerned with remembering his own name than settling his last score. He prefers to multi-task, of course, but there's only so much one can do when one can't remember what score to settle.

  Daniel Dreiberg was a kind man once. He likes to think he still is, but when he looks at the scars he's picked up over the years, he sees more of Hollis or hell, the Comedian, than the baby-faced academic who'd designed a flying machine and a suit of spandex on a whim. Nearly a decade of solo-work had hardened him. With the Keene act bullying his coworkers into government contracts or retirement, all that was left of the Crimebusters was the second Nite Owl, at his post as always. His split-second decision to chase down the origins of a clip from a snuff film depicting a brutal murder quickly shows him he's going to need a hell of a lot more than his tech to tear down the operation's web of blackmail and violence. At the moment, bourbon would certainly help.

  Summary

  Rorschach must not have been as lucky or well-prepared in prison as he was in canon. A spitting, feral alpha was put into Sing-Sing, but what Dan and Laurie sprung could only be defined vaguely as omega. Several weeks of indescribable torture go unaddressed as half of New York is massacred, and it takes several weeks for Rorschach to adjust to life outside of being the prison bitch.
  There are still some hiccups between him and Dan. Recovery isn't linear, and it's hard figuring what someone wants when they barely know, themselves.
