Will had the same pre-show ritual before every gig he ever performed. About twenty minutes before he had to go on stage, he would lock himself in any confined space he could find. In a bathroom stall, his dressing room, the maintenance closet, he would turn off the lights and hide for a few minutes. Today, though, it was five minutes before he had to go on stage, the clock ticking down, and he had spent the last half hour wandering around the venue looking for Mike Wheeler.
Will needed to talk to him.
or, the party has a band. will and mike make out on stage. for the bit, of course. it causes problems.

Summary
If you asked Mike why he did it, he probably wouldn’t have an answer. All he knew was that one moment he was walking with Will to their bikes after school, and the next Will was being pulled aside by a girl from his art class. Mike didn’t know the girl’s name; it’d never seemed like important information until now.
It still didn’t, except for the fact that the girl was clearly flirting with Will, nervously tugging at a lock of her long hair.
Will is hot - objectively - and Mike knows this because all the girls at Hawkins make this fact very clear.
This greatly annoys him, for reasons he'll never admit, and on a whim decides to involve himself in a conversation that is very much not his business.

Summary
Ever since Hawkins was put on lockdown and school cancelled for the forseeable future, Mike wheeler and Will Byers have been stuck at each others throats. While the rest of the party is growing tired at the near constant arguing, for Will and Mike the fun seems to just be getting started.

He’d stared at Will without really seeing him, so caught up in his own thoughts—a constant, monotonous beat of oh my God, I’m alive. Oh my God, Will has powers. Oh my God, he saved me.
And then—
Oh my God, he’s beautiful.
The thought had stopped him short, had landed with a soft and devastating clarity.
Beautiful.
That single word had broken something open within him, something he’d spent years reinforcing with lock and chain and prayer and denial.
After Will saves Mike from the demogorgon at the MAC-Z, Mike finally lets himself acknowledge a truth he's been running from for years:
He is in love with Will Byers.
Now all Mike has to do is come to terms with that truth—especially when Joyce sees it too.

Summary
Before Mike can react, his head bangs painfully against the wall. Black spots dance in his vision as he blearily tries to restrain the younger boy with little success.
“You asshole! How could you do that to Will? What is wrong with you?” The younger shrieks, continuously punching the other over and over. A punch to the gut has Mike immediately kneeling over, a groan escaping him. Taking his chance, Mini-Mike hastily grabs the blue vase on the edge of the table…
And smashes it into Mike’s face.
