Summary
It's the summer following the first Christmas Michael and his family welcomed David and "the boys" into their home. About a year since they teamed up to take down Max. Michael's mother throws him a spectacular graduation party at his grandpa's house. He's made a lot of school friends, even if they might not know him as well as they suspect.

Light is a siren who is rudely captured after being mistaken for a mermaid and held in a research facility. L is a mermaid who was found by Watari as an egg and raised in captivity. Light wants his old life back; hunting and fighting is a lot more fun than swimming circles around a poorly decorated tank. L just wants to understand where he comes from and to finally have another mermaid friend, and is overjoyed, but nervous when he discovers this new odd mer is interested in being mates.
Or: Light thinks L is a poor excuse for a mermaid and decides to teach him how to be a proper sea creature while L thinks they are courting.

Between Near's case of stolen blueprints, a previous employee of the Misa Misa entertainment studio caught sneaking around making ritualistic sacrifices and a shady arms dealer case investigated by Matt, all seemingly connected and contributing to a bigger picture with a recurring common factor, Light.
Will Light recover his memories and reclaim his past? Will he be able to survive living with his arch nemesis and his three unbearable successors? Will he have a peaceful ending or is there still more shots to be fired?...
