started reading this in the new years’ night and ended it in the night of the 1st of 2023, but oh god was it a wild ride. from a somewhat lightheaded, cute story to an absolute mess of emotions and angst i was honestly just barely holding on as to what the fuck was going on in the 20~30 chapters 😭 i still really like this story a lot, though i’m fairly certain it’s been abandoned, it still feels like a nice ending even if the author didn’t mean for it to be one
i’m a bit sad we didn’t actually see a lot of development for most of the reader’s relationships, specially bc when the whole “soulmate unite to save y/n in her mind palace” thing happened it just felt a bit weird to me since she didn’t actually Know them that well, if that makes sense? like yeah sure she went on a date with sans once, hickory and red were the first people to find out abt her family and stretch gave her a kiss, but g and dust had such a deeper relationship/understanding w/ her that it felt very rushed and i was kinda of sad/annoyed that it ended up being classic sans the one who magically helped her get better in the end. most of the papyrus-personality types also just didn’t get a lot of development, if any but oh well
it was still an enjoyable read and i got quite attached to g and the reader at the end, so i’m happy -

GAH. this fic has so many great fucking moments and lines and omg i love mad scientist-type of characters so much it's not even funny. i LOVE how sakura's character is changed and molded in this fic so much and the pure, RAW love and admiration i have for this fic is honestly impressive bc dear christ i wish i could just devour this fic and go yum yum yum. it's that good. anyway here are some really good parts that made me absolutely lose my bonkers when i first saw them:
"For giving me a chance and believing in me, I will love you dearly for the rest of my life." - tsunade and sakura's relationship in this fic truly makes me so emotional bc it's so GOOD. it's probably one of the best platonic relationships i've seen written tbh
Not once throughout the entire ordeal is she apologetic. She talks back at Kakashi but not Tsunade. Never Tsunade. - so simple but made me realize again how much sakura truly values tsunade and how she sees her in a way that probably no one else ever will. her savior, so to say, and also her biggest weakness.
tenketsu are flooded with energy and light up in a soft blue glow, life builds, moves, finds a way.
Her chakra reaches into the deepest of depths, cycles and spins in tune with his, carries energy and rebuilds, wakes up lungs, kidneys, and other organs, finally encourages pale skin to grow and close, the only evidence of her work a bloody handprint on his softly rising chest like an artist painting a canvas. [...] watches the sudden shudder of his chest, hears the small gasp, and sees his eyelids flutter open to reveal bright amber eyes, somewhat glassy from sleep, a deliciously warm shade of molten gold.
"Hello," she says. "I'm Sakura."
- fucking DIES. OH DEAR GODS THIS IS DELICIOUS. GIVE ME MORE PLEASE?? IT'S LITERALLY SO BEAUTIFULY WRITTEN, THE BLOODY HANDPRINT I AM ASCENDINGGG.(When she wakes it is with a memory of tinkling bells, soft lips on her forehead, and a crisp, sharp smell that reminds her of the days between winter and spring. When she opens her eyes, no one is there but the memory remains.)
- just starts crying n bawling oh my god i am so soft for these two why gods i love them so much please let me breath in their interactions i am a weak weak woman,Sasuke falls to his knees and howls in pain, hand clutching his neck, searching for something that's not there anymore, something Sakura has taken from him, taken and crushed with her dainty little fingers.
"I can unmake you Uchiha," she growls, grabs his chin, and tilts it upwards to force him to look into her eyes and see her. "I know he scared you. I know he still does. Don't waste your nightmares on a dead man when it's me you should be terrified of."
When she dreams later that night, for the first time in her life, she hears the laugh, smells lavender, and sees his face.
- LITERALLY WAS SILENTLY SCREAMING THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING WRITING AAAAAAA SO GOOD. MADE ME FEEL CHILLS."They were dead," a voice says from behind her and she is too tired to recognise it.
"Yes," she replies with a pained gasp and carefully unfolds her legs from beneath her body, hissing in pain.
"Who are you?" the voice now asks and Sakura uses the last of her energy to turn around. Her world spins and then stops.

YOU MADE HER BUT SHE RE-MADE AND RE-WORKED HERSELF INTO SOMETHING-SOMEONE EVEN BETTER.She sleeps and dreams and her world is two spheres of night and day, circling each other in something closely resembling a dance. She looks at her feet and stands on a red line that separates the black expanse on her left from the white fields on her right. The red moves and slithers, reaches for her, paints her hands, and embraces her like a lover would, holds her tight, and fills her up. There's chaos and order, death and life and the red that bathes her world in blood.
- actually no words. this is just really pretty writing and i liked it.ALSO NOT EXACTLY SOMETHING EXPLICITLY WRITTEN BUT THE FACT THAT IN THE ENTIRETY OF THE FIC SAKURA DREAMS OF MINT AND LAVANDER AND SAKE AND LAUGHTER AND LATER ON IT'S REVEALED THAT THOSE THINGS ARE ALL RELATED TO TSUNADE AND OROCHIMARU. I AM. DFHUBREHFBEHFHREJFC. LITERALLY BASIC STORYTELLING BUT IT MADE ME GO ABSOLUTELY FERAL I LOVE IT SO MUCH, THE WAY THE REVELATIONS ARE GIVEN SO OFFHANDEDLY (TSUNADE'S CHAKRA BEING "MINTY", "HIS FACE", ETC ETC).
THE ENDING OF THE FIC IS ALSO ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. ANYWAY I'M RUNNING OUT OF CHARACTERS BUT DEF A 10/10 READ.
