Shane doesn't know what happened when he was 12 years old, but his back is covered in deep scars, all from Ilya promisng is not desceased mother that she was going to be okay and that he was going to be okay. When Shane takes his shirt off in the locker room, it goes quiet, everyone noticing the deep scars on Shane's back, and it starts a talk that Shane's soulmate must be a terrible person for someone who would lie so badly so much.
Shane begins to suspect that Ilya is his soul mate on the rooftop in Vegas. When there is a familiar burning pain over Shane's heart as Ilya yells not everything is about you, Hollander. Eventually, Ilya suspects the same of Shane, but takes him a bit longer to understand this because Shane only lies when he says "I'm fine" or "I'm not hungry". But then Ilya asks, "You like them? Girls?" Shane looks up, caught off guard, "Oh, yeah, sure." Ilya feels a new scar on the back of his hand form, but then his phone rings and he has to deal with Russia. Sanji was running, searching for the right shade of green in a hued sea of forest and foliage, desperation clawing at his chest. The stupid Marimo’s swords were clutched in his hands, hilts clanging together and sheathes tap dancing on his broken ribs with every desperate step. He could still see the tormented resolve in the swordsman’s steely grey eyes the moment his sheath connected with the cook’s ribcage. The image had been burned into his retinas before he’d slipped from consciousness and hit the ground. Sanji has been running ever since he woke up, looking for the man who had left his treasured swords, and sacrificed himself for their crew.
In which, the boys have to grapple with the effects of the events at Thriller Bark, the implications of a newfound dynamic, the time skip, and they're definitely going to fuck until it all makes sense.
This is an ongoing work and I will be updating tags as appropriate for the content that is posted. This is this is my first ever fic, and I'm hoping posting during the drafting process will help encourage me to finish. Additional notes etc. at the end, and I hope you all enjoy :)

Step 4. Present the Avatar to his father and have his honor restored.Nowhere in the plan had Zuko accounted for becoming injured and the Avatar dragging him back to their camp. It certainly hadn't accounted for them taking him prisoner. Nor had it accounted for the added complication of Avatar's companions not having the decency to learn the Common Dialect. Only the Avatar understands him and communication in the group is a tangled mess.
