Driver hated to say it, but he was becoming far more attached to the family. Especially as he laid on the couch with them, nearly being crushed by his foster dad. Though it wasn’t all that bad. Not when the man ruffled his hair and laughed without a care in the world. All whilst his wife scolded him for not moving despite the small protests coming from Driver. It was the closest he's ever felt to having a normal family.

Summary
Chris Redfield thought he'd finally buried Albert Wesker.
Instead, he finds him alive.
Imprisoned inside a BSAA-funded research facility and forced to continue the research that made him too valuable to lose, someone needs to be willing to stay in a room with a man who insists on ensuring the failure of each person unlucky enough to step through those doors. After exhausting every other option, the facility settles on the only person they believe might survive him: Chris Redfield.
What begins as an attempt to understand the man who betrayed him and to make peace with years of unresolved grief slowly becomes something neither of them was prepared to confront.
Chris thought he would just be looking for the point where his Captain ended and Albert Wesker began.
Wesker thought he already understood Chris.

“Protective of your prison, Doctor?” He pulled a bottle of crimson out of his pocket, offering it through the bars. “Starvation won’t kill you either.”

"Yes, I did, Verity. Oh my god..." Mob's hand flew to hold his head as he doubled over in pain, fear and adrenaline mixing and leaving the body at once. He should be scared, the threat, what he was just running from, was standing right in front of him-standing over him. That was new.
"You're bleeding," Verity noticed.
"Yeah, no shit!" Mob snapped back. He held his breath as long as he could to suffice a relief from the pain, then let it out as the pain rushed back in. "Because of you, Verity..."
Verity crouched down to Mob's level, to meet the blood dripping down his head to his neck, seeping through and soaking his hood. He reached up to inspect, but Mob swatted his hand away almost immediately. Verity breathed a nod, standing up and starting to break the blocks barricading the stairs behind Mob.
"No! Don't break those!" Mob cried out in returning fear.
"It's all right, Mob," Verity droned, still breaking the logs. "He's gone. I'm here."
