Phoenix Wright, 35, finally feels like he can breathe. With an amazing team at the WAA, a happy daughter, and a reliable friendship with Miles Edgeworth, Phoenix doesn't want to do anything that could jeopardize this stability--even if it means never saying his romantic feelings for his best friend.
After the involvement of a sacred Fey artifact, however, the two Phoenixes' lives are thrown into chaos as they wake up in a world and time not their own. Unsettled, they must now navigate the echoes of a different life.

Larry’s words were ringing in his head the whole time he sat in that accursed jet. He felt trapped inside that thing, helpless, unable to make it fly faster, horrified at the idea that he was too late.
Finally, the flight was over, and he stood in the Hotti Clinic, so dazed he couldn’t quite recall how he’d gotten there. He asked for Wright . . . He was there—in the ICU.
The moment he got cleared to visit Wright, he rushed to the room the nurse at the reception desk named, yearning to get an undeniable confirmation that Wright was, indeed, alive, but also dreading to find out just how badly he was hurt.
This idiot would be the death of him.This work fills the gaps in the Bridge to the Turnabout case from Edgeworth’s perspective as he tries to logic his way out of his inexplicable feelings toward Wright . . . Until it dawns on him.
It mostly respects the game's canon, except minor changes.

Summary
Murphy’s Law states anything that can go wrong will go wrong. In Miles’ head, that is EXACTLY how his relationship with Phoenix will go. Not because of anything Phoenix does, for he is a wonderful partner, but some way somehow Miles will screw things up.
He can’t decide whether to brace for the worst or to enjoy it while it lasts.
