18 year old Damien Grey is finally graduating high school, holding onto hopes that the Hero System, a magic system that enhances humans into Heroes, beings of great combat power who fight monsters, will choose him as a Hero.
He finally gets his wish, becoming a Hero, but the class chosen for him is a complete mystery, both to himself and everyone else. As more information becomes available to him, he finds out he may not be the Hero he once wished to be.
