Summary
Edgeworth was soaked, mad, tired and had one of the biggest migraines upon her.
Obviously, it wasn't one of her greatest days in her life, not even the worst given her past. But she was pretty sure it would be in at least top 20.

Summary
In this position, Phoenix couldn't close her legs together if she tried, not with the way each of her ankles are bound and secured to the bedframe. Instead, bare thighs are spread apart in invitation, nothing to conceal what lies between them.
Even if she could bring her legs closed, she lacks anything to tighten them around. She aches from the emptiness, nothing yet filling her so full and deep like every fiber of her being craves. The absence of another's body heat to surround her is acute, and she's dizzy with need after so much time apart from Miles, after all the teasing messages exchanged earlier in the day.
And so, she's left shamelessly presenting herself on trembling knees, eagerly awaiting the fulfilment of Miles' earlier promises.
Miles has decided to take her time with said promises, it seems.

Summary
The thing was—she didn’t understand it. They weren’t fighting. Nothing was wrong between them, and yet here was Miles, turning another page, as though the last four days apart had not occurred to her at all.
It was possible, Phoenix thought, in the last coherent corner of her brain, that she was going to lose her mind.
“Do you not want to have sex with me?”
Four days apart. One empty apartment. Turns out, two years of marriage hasn’t made either of them any better at self-control.
