When Sam was with Amelia Richardson between seasons seven and eight, he made a friend: a police chief named Jeff Wagner. This is how Jeff saw Sam during those months. Meanwhile, Sam learned about a new class of monsters. Even though he is out of the family business, he gets to show off his awesome hunter skills and maybe something more. Dean is mentioned, but not around.
Warnings: Rated Teen or up for mentions of crime, violence, drugs, premarital sex if you squint, and non-graphic references to dogfighting, puppy mills, and other forms of animal abuse. Some mention of police work and guns. Violence consistent with series norms. Erring on the safe side.

Sensing Keith's discomfort, Kosmo came over to his person and gently pulled on his pant leg, forcing Keith to sit down once the Husky managed to pull him to the nearest chair. Once in the chair, the manager came over to check on Keith. The older man rarely had to see Kosmo actually working and was worried.
"Are you okay, m'boy?" he softly asked, after making sure Keith focused on his face.
"I'm fine," Keith chuckled exhaustively, playfully tugging on the ginger mustache in front of him. "That was just a bit...much...I hope I don't have to see him again..."

Even at 5’11”, Josh still looks slight amongst them, dark-headed and wiry, palpably radiating his particular brand of beltway cynicism. He’s been fully integrated into the Moss brood, though, with a train of children trailing in his wake all morning: she’s witnessed him happily tossing her nephews around, hoisting her niece up onto his back, sparring good-naturedly with her brothers about whether a pitch was a strike or a ball. And it’s a good thing, it really is — she’d worried he wouldn’t get along with her family and after a couple of hours they’re all thick as thieves — so why exactly does it feel like she’s been struck in the chest with a pickaxe?
Josh is dating Amy. And yet, here he is, in Wisconsin, winning over Donna's entire family and making her acutely aware of everything she doesn't have.
